Do you know how to find a perfect color correcting primer or concealer? I always had difficulties finding the right shade that would minimize redness, conceal dark circles or correct funny skin tones. It is really discouraging to wake up with blemished skin or dark circles under eyes. Luckily concealer exists.
You can find primer and concealer in different colors like green, yellow, blue, orange, purple, pink and neutral. When I was in primary school we had to understand the concept of color wheel and at that point it was not really something that would interest me much but now it comes in very handy. Let me explain you why and how.
Color directly across from another cancels the other out and that applies to art of makeup too. For example green color overrules red that means you can minimize redness (sunburns, acne, broken capillaries,…) with green concealer and primer.
Primer/Concealer in colors:
Green colorwill help you minimize redness (sunburns, acne, broken capillaries,…).
Purple color corrects yellow undertones/skin tones.
Blue adds radiance, it also brightens porcelain and fair skin tones.
Yellow is perfect for concealing dark circles and lightens darker skintones.
Pink is good for brightening yellow skintones.
First step is to apply a concealer to reduce unwanted imperfections and then use a primer to prepare a silky base for foundation.
MAX FACTORrecently launched a new collection of color corrector sticks. I bought green stick and it definitely helps to reduce redness.
Primer will set up the base for flawless foundation. You will be able to easily apply makeup that will last forever. when buying a primer be cautious to pick the one that suits your skin best. For example if you have a dry skin, make sure to buy a primer that is moisturizing otherwise your skin will look cakey after applying the foundation. Usually I use primer for nights out because it really helps to keep my makeup in one place.
SMASHBOX is one of the most popular brands when it comes to primers. Their primers are really good quality and will last for a long time but a bit pricey. More or less all drugstore brands sell primers, you can easily find a cheaper version.
Do you use a primer and concealer daily? Do you recommend any?
