If you’re not familiar with the Edeline Lee, she is a Canadian-born but London-based fashion designer but has been showing at LFW since 2014. Her collections are designed for the ‘Future Lady,’ and she’s built up quite the celebrity fanbase in her fledgling years – names such as Alicia Vikander, Taylor Swift, Holland Roden and Solange Knowles have all been spotted wearing Edeline’s designs.
For Edeline Lee’s SS17 collection, focus was on colour-blocking in shades of grey, blue and jade colours, juxtaposed by bright flashes of colour, all expressed through clean-cut dresses, jumpers, coats and trousers. Nearly all of the designs were made from an extraordinary material, the Italian textured fabric Flou Bubble Jacquard. As the name suggests, Flou Bubble Jacquard has a ‘bubbly’ look to it, offering up a futuristic vibe that’s well-aligned with Lee’s aesthetic. The fabric gives the designs a special touch, even to the simplest of designs. One of the main advantages of this fabric is that it doesn’t wrinkle, so it’s perfect for the busy modern woman. Who wouldn’t love to throw the iron away and save their time for shopping for pieces from this collection?!
I’ve picked few pieces from the collection that I would definitely love in my wardrobe…
